Buttons.

I thought that making buttons in flash was going to be really complicating but I actually understood it. The more we work with flash the more I am starting to understand. Me and Shaina are starting to understand a lot about flash. We have most of our game drew. Our buttons are up and working.

Anglo-Saxons and Video Games comparison.

Most video games that we play today have to do with these kind of characters. I took Latin I& Latin II last year and we talked a lot about Greek mythology and the Romans. In most of these there is always a monster of some sort having to defeat an arched enemy or getting defeated. These are the kinds of games most people like to play in today's society. Like left for dead 2 has to do with killing or defeating enemies. I also remember talking about Anglo-Saxons in my history classes in the past.

Audience ! ! !

-When the first teller of Beowulf prepared to share the tale, what assumptions do you think he (or she) made about the purpose of the story? I think that the story teller probably didn't really believe in Beowulf. He or she probably thought that the monster would end up winning the battle with Beowulf. When I read this I was back and forth, part of me thought Grendel would win but also there was a part of me that thought Beowulf would win.

-- How do you think the storyteller's beliefs about the intended audience--men gathered in mead halls--affect the content of the story? I thought the story would be more detailed. I thought that it would be a lot more descriptive on how they were killed.

- How do you think YOUR beliefs about your video games' intended audience (you will need to determine who your audience is) will affect the development and final version of your game? Think of age appropriateness, learning goals, types of characters, etc
.
Our game will have to be appropriate for all ages. It has to be educational I know that me and my partner have to come up with a game that is understandable, and age appropriate.

Beowulf ! ! !

I think Beowulf would be an excellent hero because he fights for the right reasons, not the immature reasons people fight over today. People tend to look up to Beowulf because he is more muscular than others and can probably become a bit intimidating. I believe he would be the main character in a video game. People like to use the biggest people as the main characters in video games that deal with fighting. I know that in a video game I was playing I would definately choose him because he is a hero. I would feel safe side by side with Beowulf because I know he would be a great teammate, he would do the right things. When I think of Beowulf I picture a big, tall and muscular guy who will stand up for whatever he believes in and always does the right things and thats what I imagine a hero to be :)
